Are You Ready for 2008?
We
are fast approaching the end of another year. And what a year it’s
been! We’ve had baptisms, restorations, new members, and births, all
adding to our number at a steady rate. It seems we are seeing larger
attendance figures almost every week. Let’s all pray and work hard to
keep this trend going. Each of us has a responsibility to do our part
in helping the Lord’s church grow; we’ve got the ball rolling so let’s
keep it up!
Now
is the time to set goals for 2008. In fact, if you haven’t begun
thinking about some already you may be behind. Here are some you might
consider... Strive to make it to every church service and Bible class.
Become a “Daily Bible Reader.” If you are in the habit of reading your
Bible everyday try reading it through this year; there are several
guides out there to help keep on track. Teach a Bible class. This can
seem intimidating but it can be very rewarding and we always need more
teachers. Start having a family devotional period two or three days a
week—in addition to church services. These are just some ideas; feel
free to come up with your own.
I
know many of you will be traveling out of town over the next couple of
weeks visiting loved ones. And, while we will miss you here at Pond, we
wish you well while you are traveling. Let us all pray for everyone to
have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
In love,
Thomas Sneed
