Going to Heaven
What is your number one priority in life? Did you answer, “To go to
Heaven?” We need to realize that going to heaven is the only thing in
life that is really important. In Matthew 6:33 Jesus says, “But seek ye
first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things
shall be added to you.” Are you living a life that seeks first the
kingdom of God?
We
must understand that our soul is the most precious thing we have. Jesus
points out that even if we gain the whole world but loose our soul we
have lost everything (Matt. 16:26). Jesus asked, “What will a man give
in exchange for his soul?” The obvious answer is “nothing.” But many
risk losing their souls while seeking a life of ease and comfort. Those
who realize how precious the soul is are not willing to endanger it for
any amount of luxury or pleasure. What vale do you place on your soul?
Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people (John 14:2-3). No one
will enter Heaven by accident. You do not stumble into Heaven. The
Bible compares going to Heaven with running a race. It is not a sprint
but a marathon. It takes preparation, endurance and persistence. Are
you prepared for Heaven?
The wonder of Heaven is beyond our imagination. The splendor and joy of
God’s city cannot be described or known this side of eternity. Paul
tells us that, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard…the things which God has
prepared for those who love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). Will you ever
know the magnificence of Heaven?
I
will ask again, “What is your number one priority in life?” What are
you doing today to ensure your soul’s home in Heaven? “Let us run with
endurance the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1).
